From the moment I stepped into the vibrant MacWorld Convention, surrounded by the buzz of innovation and tangerine-colored laptops, my compass for art found its digital direction. At Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, my creative pursuits crystallized into a Fine Arts degree (BFA), majoring in Communication Design, setting my course towards a future rich in design.
Post-graduation, my path followed an adventurous direction to Austin, Texas, alongside my best friend. There, I embraced the ruggedness and resilience of AmeriCorps service hosted by American Youth Works (AYW). My term within the parks of Texas included trail work wielding mcleods and chainsaws as an amateur arborist. Heatstroke couldn't dampen the palpable excitement, especially the esteemed role of mentoring high school-aged learners.
I quickly became involved with the school's front office, where I revamped their visual identity and crafted promotional materials. This path led to an unexpected meeting with Antone's Night Club, with whom the school was organizing a fundraiser, marking a pivotal moment in my artistic journey.
Creating visuals for this event opened the door to my inaugural client. For Antone's, the renowned Austin blues club, I designed full-page ads published in The Austin Chronicle and posters for each act, showcased outside of the concert hall.
In2011, my path led me back to Philadelphia area, where I embarked on an exciting chapter with the Comcast Sports Group, collaborating with Sporting News Magazine as a freelance editorial designer. This six-month stint paved the way for what was to come.
My venture into the digital realm began here, tasked with
redesigning the websites for all their sports markets. This
defining project not only honed my skills in major website
design but also transitioned me into a full-time web design
role with CSN. As Comcast Sports evolved into NBC Sports, my
journey took me to Stamford, Connecticut, where I joined NBC
Sports Group Digital as an Interactive Product Designer.
At NBCSports.com, I tackled my second significant website redesign, followed by its continued support. My contributions spanned across multiple websites, mobile apps, and online stories. Covering the entire spectrum of digital design creating custom graphics, interactive products, and innovative sales initiatives, style guides and functional prototypes.
Beyond the distinguished achievement of receiving an Emmy Award for our digital coverage of the 2014 Olympic Games, my tenure in Connecticut was marked by a rewarding teaching position at Sacred Heart University. In the role of Adjunct Professor, I delivered graduate-level multimedia courses, empowering students to craft professional-quality digital content with industry-standard tools. This period not only exemplified my capabilities in digital production but also underscored my commitment to nurturing others.
2017 marked another return to the Philadelphia area in Doylestown, my hometown. At Delaware Valley University, I embraced the role of Web Manager. Tasked with a complete overhaul of the university's web presence, I leveraged my independently honed front-end skills to lead with a blend of technical innovation and administrative insight.
As I stand at the precipice of new opportunities, my professional quest continues to be driven by the desire to conquer complex challenges and forge impactful solutions within the digital landscape. With over 15 years of honing a keen eye for problem-solving and a portfolio enriched by award-winning visual and technical acumen, I am poised to join a team where my contributions will not only be significant but transformative.
My journey has been paved with a project-centric ethos, deeply rooted in the soil of product innovation and user-centric design. As I seek roles that resonate with my trajectory—be it as an Interactive Product Designer, a UX Visionary, or a Front-End Architect—I bring a tapestry of experience that stands out for its depth and diversity.
Beyond the realms of design and development, my aspirations include harnessing my oratory skills in domains where mentorship and education are the beacons—guiding burgeoning talents and established teams alike towards excellence in product management and digital craftsmanship. In the next chapter of my career, I aim to not just occupy space but to elevate it, sharing my narrative to inspire and inform the ever-evolving narrative of interactive technology.
